John van't Schip loses Heart

Melbourne Heart coach John van't Schip has announced he will leave the club and Australia at the end of the season for family reasons.

The Melbourne Heart called a press conference this week where van't Schip announce he wished to go back to Europe to be closer to family.

John van't Schip was still joking that his players cried when they heard the news and said "I see my path somewhere else, I'm very proud of the players," .

Heart chief executive Peter Sidwell paid tribute to van't Schip, saying the coach had added "amazing, incremental capacity to our club, his commitment to start with nothing - you will recall that two years ago, when we announced his appointment, that John was essentially a one-man band and from then on we put a club together and a team together.”

He added ""To say we're grateful is a massive understatement." “There is an expression in life that says: 'If you leave a place in a better condition then that's the measure of the man.” It is rumoured that Heart youth team coach and former Socceroo John Alouisi may be in the frame for the position, but the Heart will not rush the decision to make sure they get the right man for the job.
