Socceroos progress in Thailand
The Socceroos have pulled off a hard fought win against a determined Thailand with Brett Holman scoring to help the team to progress through to the next phase of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
Australia were on the back foot through most of the game with Thailand missing three glorious chances to take the lead on home soil. The Thai crowd were on the Socceroos back during the game, and the game had some flash points in the second half with a few Thai players going down after hard clashes.
Brett Holman was the hero in the end scoring in the 77th minute with a well placed header after a great cross from Sydney FC winger Brett Emerton.
With Saudia Arabia and Oman drawing the Thai team still have a mathematical chance of making it to the next phase. the last game of qualifying will be played in February.
