Pantelis blow for Wellington Phoenix

Lucas Pantelis has struck Wellington Phoenix a blow on the eve of the Hyundai A-League season, as he is set to miss the entire 2011/12 campaign with a knee injury.

Pantelis signed from Adelaide for the new season and it was thought he would miss a month of his debut season after going down with the knee problem in a friendly against the Central Coast Mariners,

But an MRI scan on his injured left knee which he has seriously injured in the past, has revealed an ACL rupture, along with tears to the cartilage and meniscus and so now it looks like he will miss the whole season.
