Blackburn and Kean on borrowed time
Blackburn manager Steve Kean has received support from many managers and hit back at further protests from fans of the club by insisting he will not buckle under the pressure.
Kean is adamant that he will not quit his post even though many fans, sponsors, MPs and even local papers calling for his head. Many supporters feel he has had more than a fair chance, is out of his depth and will only take the club down. But rumours still circulate that Blackburn cannot afford to even pay him off, which could spell the end in the Premier League.
Injury hit Blackburn will spend Christmas bottom of the Premier League after losing home games to West Brom and Bolton and now have to face Liverpool and Manchester United. Some good news though Kean has confirmed that Gael Givet could be back in contention just a week after undergoing a heart operation.
It has been speculated that fans favourite Mark Hughes will make a return, but he will only come for the short term if the price is right and wants to know what the exact situation is with the running of the club.
Hughes might take charge after new year for the home game against Stoke rather than taking on Liverpool and Manchester United. If Steve Kean can pull some upset results he may yet still keep his job but it seems he is on borrowed at Blackburn Rovers
