Anelka move to China in doubt

Nicolas Anelka had agreed a move to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua last week but now the move hangs in the balance after a corruption case has been brought in against them.

Shanghai Shenhua are accused of bribing officials with more than £500,000 in the Chinese Super League. If they are found guilty they will surely be relegated.

Two leading referees have already admitted taking money to influence Shenhua games and there are more revelations to come with verdicts due on Wednesday or Thursday.

If found guilty Shanghai Shenhua who were now supposedly after former Chelsea ace Michael Ballack as well, may still offer the same wages to Anelka but the player does not fancy playing in the Chinese second division.
