Gerrard signs Liverpool deal

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has signed a new contract extension and set his sights on retiring at his boyhood club.

Gerrard, 31, has spent his entire career with the Reds and has come back in form from a horror injury spell, but he feels all the elements are in place under Kenny Dalglish to bring back the glory days at Anfield.

Gerrard told the club's official website "I'm very happy, It's a very proud day for myself and my family. Hopefully that will be in many years to come because I want to play for as long as I can.”
