Sir Alex Ferguson has denied reports that Chris Smalling has glandular fever and insists he will be fit to play next week.
Smalling was reported to have glandular fever and many people believed he could be out for up to three months.
Ferguson has now come out and said that Smalling was suffering from tonsillitis and will play against Newcastle next Wednesday or Manchester City the following Sunday.
