Blackburn Rovers puzzling public and players
Blackburn Rovers are making a habit of puzzling the public, the media and now even their own players.
According to sources close to the club's owners, Blackburn manager Steve Kean is on the verge of a pay rise, even though Rovers are rooted in the relegation zone and even though he has a record of 6 wins in 34 Premier League games.
With the public, and most Rovers fans on Kean’s and owners Venkys back, this seems a strange decision to say the least. We wonder then if this is an inspired decision to keep him on, or one of complete madness as if you lose the fans then its best to change things up.
Then there are the players who Kean says are behind him, but now the rumours have started that Chris Samba and Junior Hoilett who are probably Rovers most consistent stars, are looking to leave and will not be swayed otherwise. Both are targets for Liverpool and Tottenham and now it would seem the hope of keeping has faded as Samba has even gone to the lengths of reportedly getting new representatives to help him get a move in January.
Venky and Balaji Rao, the brothers who co-own the club, have continued to give Kean support and there are sources who say Kean has more influence then Venkys can do anything about. Venky Rao, though was spooked before kick off when he arrived at the ground, the car in which he was travelling had to stop a short walk from the entrance doors and he was harranged by a small group of Blackburn fans. This looks likely to continue if Blackburn continue their fall from grace.
