Spurs to set up contract talks for Luka Modric
Luka Modric is set for contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur as the club look to give him a better deal.
Croatian Modric, 24 was a target for Manchester United and Chelsea with the latter making three bids for his services in the transfer window, the last bid was reportedly over 40 million pounds. Chelsea were almost willing to triple his current wages and Modric even put in a transfer request to get the deal done.
Modric was captain for last weeks four nil win over Liverpool and scored a sensational goal in the first half.
Spurs know they have a gem in Modric so if they can make him sign a better deal it would be an amazing turnaround from the events that transpired not even a month ago.
